Wow! What a year 2016 has turned out to be.
It has certainly been exciting so far! From local and international election campaigns, freak tornado’s in Thembisa, to reaching our medal tally target at the recent Olympic Games in Rio #GoTeamSA.
Here at Rubix, we too have many exciting things happening behind the scenes. These new developments are starting to come to fruition and we felt it was time to reveal some of these innovative projects to you!
As you know, Rubix has always ensured our IT systems, software and equipment is state of the art and always at the cutting edge of technology to maximize customer service and delivery. We already make use of multiple systems such as Tom Tom satellite tracking, SMS notifications and online quoting systems (to name a few) so it was only natural that we had the right software to manage our daily route logistics and transportation needs as well.
So what is this software and what does it mean for you?
A first in our country, this routing and utilisation software system was developed and customized around the need to maximize our fleet, increase scholar routes, reduce time spent in transit and allow for the tracking of each and every scholar on board. As we all know, Gauteng traffic can be a little crazy some days and no doubt we have all ducked in and out of the back alleys trying to avoid as much of the “rat race” as possible. This unknown variable plays havoc on our planned routes too, and with this system in place, we will be able to adjust our routes accordingly to ensure delivery and pickups will be on time, every time. A remote application will enable our Teams to work smarter and communicate real time with parents and each other more effectively. Parents will be able to, in time, update their child’s schedules and changes to personal information online and will also receive all correspondence from Rubix through one centralised system.
We are piloting the software in the Bryanston and Randburg areas currently and it will be rolled out to all our branches by the start of the 2017 academic year. We will let you know more about this as and when it unfolds.
This leads us to our next exciting project: To ensure all our valued customers, clients and suppliers don’t miss out on any of these exciting changes, we will be revving up our communications to you! Convenience has always been a priority for us and with this in mind, we are making it as convenient as possible for you to receive this information.
